Rin & Len Get!

June 20, 2009 by

We finally got Rin and Len for Vocaloid2!

So far I like Vocaloid2. I like how they automatically add a vibrato, but it doesn’t have the pronounciation codes for the Vocaloids. It’s strange that they did that.

But Rin and Len sing very well (no offense Kaito! D:). In fact, it’s kind of difficult to tell them apart. While I’m typing this up I’m also writing up a song for them to sing.  \ (^o^) /

Damned Kaito D:

I got Kaito to sing Another Brick in the Wall. But sadly he’s only singing the first half of it. He sounded out of place with the corus.

I’ve been thinking up ways to draw Kaito and Meiko to make some figures of them. Since they have no love, Meiko the most. I would love to have a figure of her. She’s cute, and one of the first Japanese Vocaloids.

Another contest entry

June 17, 2009 by

More Vocaloid related art for another contest held on YouTube. This time I managed to get a desktop cam to work (Hypercam this time). Though I still had a lot of trouble recording the painting process. Maybe my Photoshop document was too big because while I was recording the computer was lagging and unresponsive at times. That made me kind of nervous, especially while I hadn’t saved yet.

Anyway, this contest had something I swore I would never do: fan made characters. I actually had fun doing it.

A little early for this…

June 16, 2009 by

I’ll be doing the PV for kaitocream‘s Kaito’s song once she’s finished with it. I’ve already started painting the title image for it. I’m planning on doing the rest of the video in MikuMikuDance. I’ll need to make a background for that…

Sigh, my computer has been slowing down while I’m in Photoshop. It actually takes a few seconds to fill an area! And when I’m using the smudge tool I have to wait several seconds for it to catch up with me. ;_;

Poor abused computer…

Anime Studio Get!

June 16, 2009 by

I didn’t intentionally go out to buy Anime Studio. I just came across it and decided to give it a try (I’m nearly afraid of Flash…). Not bad for a $50 price tag (you can upgrade to the “pro” version for about $200). We’ll see if I like it enough to want to upgrade.

You can upload your own illustrations or draw directly onto Anime Studio and set a bone structure. It also has lip-synching! Very usful for Vocaloid PVs if I may say so. I didn’t enjoy taking the time creating and animating different mouths in Flash.

Here’s an idea of the ugly box art (though I got version 6.0):

Sorry, no videos of it in action yet. I’m sure I’ll be playing with it during the next few days. Now only if Kaito would cooperate and sing the way we want him to.

I uploaded my first Vocaloid related video onto YouTube. For some reason Youtube sure has a lot of art contests for Vocaloid and no actual music or PV contests. Weird.

Anyway, I decided to enter cuteypu728′s Vocaloid art contest. I wanted the video to be a “speed paint,” but the desktop cam I was using (CamStudio) kept crashing and not recording. Oh well, slide show it is then.
